About the team

The Strategy & Operational Performance team is responsible for providing the insights, frameworks, and transformation expertise to support CCNSW leadership in the development, execution, and ongoing evaluation of the new CCNSW five-year strategy to maximise organisational impact.

The four key focus areas for the team are:

  • Strategy and planning
  • Business improvement and transformation
  • Performance, evaluation, and insights
  • Project portfolio management.

About the role:

The Manager, Strategy and Projects assists the Executive Leadership Team in developing and executing the overall strategic framework for CCNSW and works closely with the CEO and COO in strategy design, formulation and ongoing monitoring and review. The Manager, Strategy and Projects also assesses opportunities for operational performance improvement across the organisation and leads specific projects relating to organisational performance improvement.

They lead a high performing team consisting of Project Management Office, Strategic Projects, and Reporting and Business Insights.

This is a full time Parental Leave cover ending in June 2026.

Part-time applicants are welcome to apply and will be considered. This role will work alongside another parental leave cover role – Manager, Strategy and Evaluation, who will manage the Performance and Evaluation part of the Strategy and Operational Performance team.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead a high performing team consisting of Project Management Office, Strategic Projects, and Reporting and Business Insights.
  • Assist the Executive Leadership Team in monitoring, reporting on and executing our strategic plan and roadmap, including our long-term goals and strategic objectives, and targets for measuring outcomes and impact.
  • Identify, analyse, and monitor key opportunities and constraints that impact on CCNSW’s revenue, financial sustainability, growth and productivity, and develop strategic initiatives or projects that unlock these opportunities.
  • Lead, review and maintain oversight of the annual organisational planning process to ensure alignment to the strategic plan and to the financial plan, including project prioritisation.
  • Inspire and influence cross-functional teams and engage with both internal and external partners to support opportunities for operational performance improvement and innovation.
  • Undertake analysis of organisational performance and application of key business metrics.
  • Assist in the design, development and execution of key strategic projects that lead to business performance improvement.
  • Prepare presentations and present insights to internal and external stakeholders including the Executive and Board.
  • Assist with the preparation of Board papers and other management reporting dealing with strategy and operational performance.
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of key strategic and business improvement projects and initiatives in collaboration with the PMO.
  • Undertake post implementation reviews for key strategic and business improvement projects.

About you

Essential:

  • Strategy and / or business management experience gained in business improvement or consulting.
  • Strong business acumen combined with strategic and analytical thinking in a multifunctional environment.
  • Excellent communicator with outstanding influencing and collaboration skills.
  • High drive for results and resilience.
  • Strong ability to operate in a complex, ambiguous structure.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to organisational change.
  • Project delivery focused.
