The Early Intervention Child and Family Case Worker provides case management services with families to build on strengths and enhance the well being of all family members.

about the opportunity

Working collaboratively with CCFSS team members, this work uses one-on-one interventions with families through home visiting and community work in achieving positive outcomes. Suitable applicants will possess skills and understanding of the issues related to families, children and young people in the areas of family functioning, parent/child relationships, parenting skill development, child development and the effects of trauma.

Family case work involves the provision of timely advice, information and referral across a variety of areas of focus in addition to promoting the development of competencies and capabilities that enable families to build resilience, access resources and supports that enable all families the choice to meet their social, cultural and economic needs. Previous experience working with Young Parents or Grandparent Carers would be highly advantageous.

Course work facilitation involves the delivery of evidence based and informal group work programs with a focus on parenting education and skill building. Some informal peer support group work facilitation is also a function of this role.

Family caseworkers conduct family risk and protective assessments to determine issues impacting upon the functioning of the family and work through and early intervention framework to establish plans and set family centred goals.

Positions are covered by the SCHADS award, with fringe benefit salary packaging offered to increase your take home pay. A talent pool may be created to fill any future vacancy. CCFSS strives to provide a flexible and collaborative work environment.

Central Coast Family Support Services Inc. (CCFSS) currently delivers a broad range of services for families with children up to the age of 12 years, very young parents, grandparents raising their grandchildren and for families where a child has a diagnosed disability. The organisation also facilitates psycho educational evidenced based course work programs; small community events; educational workshops and/or training and community building activities. Outreach services are delivered across the Central Coast region.
