Remuneration and benefits

  • Level 3 to Level 4
  • $82,288 - $94,910 per annum including super and attractive salary packaging options
  • Four weeks of annual leave per annum plus leave loading as well as additional paid leave during the Christmas closure;
  • Full time staff work a 35-hour week and we offer flexible working arrangements;
  • Staff are eligible to salary sacrifice a portion of their base salary (up to $18,000);

Caxton Legal Centre represents the interests of people who are disadvantaged or low-income earners when they come into contact with the Law. 

This is a data management and reporting role in the Operations team that assists across all facets of data generation and retrieval, analytics, and reporting tasks. The Data Management Officer (DMO) plays a key role in providing data insights and visualisations to support strategic decision-making.

Key accountabilities

  • Collaborate with legal and social work practice teams to identify data collection needs and to develop and implement data collection processes.
  • Development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and visualisation tools in Excel, PowerBI and other relevant data programs. Communicate data insights and reporting results effectively to diverse stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical audiences, to meet reporting requirements and management needs
  • Development and maintenance of automation tools within Excel and other programs to streamline data operations
  • Maintain and provide user support for data management software and apps such as 8x8, Caxton PowerApps, CLASS, SharePoint, and One Place Mail (excluding technical support).
  • Data related administrative tasks including processing, entering, and extracting data into the CLASS, excel and other data management programs
  • CLASS, SharePoint and one Place Mail user support to Staff (not technical support)
  • General file management tasks
  • Provide training and support to team members and other departments on data management practices, tools, CRM/software applications, internal data/file management, Caxton PowerApps and SharePoint.
  • Identify and analyse existing processes to discover opportunities for enhancement. Develop and implement improvements to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimise data management practices.
  • Ensure adherence to data regulatory and governance requirements, including data protection laws and organizational policies. Monitor and implement best practices for data privacy, security, and compliance in all data management activities.

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of core Microsoft platforms, including Excel, Power BI, Power Query and SharePoint. The candidate should be comfortable working across these tools to manage data, create reports, and implement solutions that align with organisational needs.
  • High level of computer literacy and competency in Excel (Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation)
  • High level of SharePoint experience and knowledge
  • High level of competency in data management
  • Proven experience in producing data visualisation dashboards and reports (experience with Power BI for generating reports)
  • CLASS experience a bonus but not essential
  • The ability to train staff on key processes and operations is desirable
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Paid Christmas leave is provided during the office shut-down period to New Years in addition to four weeks paid annual leave.
