  • Full-time 2-year fixed-term contract (with the potential for extension).

CAWLS is a busy community legal practice with a vibrant and dedicated team committed to providing representation and excellent outcomes for our clients through law reform, legal advice and representation, community legal education and outreach. Many of our clients are women who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic and Family violence.

CAWLS is seeking a self-motivated candidate looking for a challenging role managing a small team to develop & implement this exciting pilot project.

Crucial in your success in this role is your high level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Total effective package includes: base salary, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance and salary packaging options.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary objectives of the role are to;

Lead the development and implementation of a pilot Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence (DFSV) program:

  • Developing partnerships with identified primary healthcare providers (such as GP clinics and allied health providers) to provide education and referral support in response to managing disclosures of DFSV;
  • Developing and delivering tailored, ongoing and scaffolded education and professional development and support to frontline staff within partner organisations;
  • Auditing and re-developing referral processes and resources to assist partner services identify, assess and respond to disclosures of DFSV in line with the NT Risk Assessment and Management Framework;
  • Provide accessible secondary consultation support to partner services in relation to identification of DFSV, risk assessment and risk management.

Work with the CAWLS Management Team for the overall success of the pilot service, fulfilling obligations pursuant to funding agreements and ensuring the service is compliant with all regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Supervise the Project team, providing leadership in collaboration with the Senior Management Team.
  • Develop and manage a co-design program engaging patients and frontline workers with lived experience to guide the development and evaluation of the program framework
  • Develop trusted relationships with primary health care providers.
  • Oversee and contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality legal and socio-legal education, training and professional development to health professionals.
  • Establish clear processes for managing a secondary consultation service embedded within a community legal centre.
  • Manage the ongoing evaluation of the pilot program, including reporting against key KPI’s, establishing an evaluation framework and monitoring implementation.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this position, you will have;

Completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104 or TAE40110) or equivalent, and/or significant experience in designing and delivering adult group training.

A demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic, family and sexual violence as it affects women and children.

Experience in consultation and design of adult education, including training needs assessment and evaluation methods.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.

Experience managing a small team and project management experience desirable.

The successful candidate must have a Current (NT) Driver’s License, NT Ochre Card & Criminal History check (or the ability to obtain).
