South West Family Services encompasses two programs working with local families; Family Support and Intensive Family Preservation. Family Support helps parents facing difficulties that impact their ability to nurture their children by offering services like parenting programs, referrals to other services, and support with issues like domestic violence, addiction, and isolation. The program focuses on improving parenting practices, strengthening parent-child relationships, and connecting families with local services and supportive social networks. Intensive Family Preservation supports families who are presenting with high levels of child protection risks and referred by Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The program provides intensive case management and therapeutic support, working in collaboration with parents to improve the safety and well-being of their children.

What you’ll be doing

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing direction, support, feedback and / or clinical supervision to a team of practitioners to facilitate the delivery of efficient and effective client focused services consistent with best practice standards and relevant statutory and funding requirements
  • Implementing and monitoring quality assurance activities, capture, collate and report high quality data, ensuring that all internal and external reporting requirements are met
  • Applying an outcome focused approach to leadership that ensures quality service delivery that meets current sector standards.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of professional practice techniques and translate that knowledge to maximise outcomes for clients
  • Facilitate team and cross divisional meetings that foster a high performing service culture that identifies service delivery issues and concerns, exchanges information, establishes operational priorities, communicates policy and legislative changes, and monitors milestones
  • Provide / facilitate supervision and professional development
  • Provide timely, high level and specialist advice to Senior and Executive Management on service delivery issues, team performance, service quality, and related matters

What you will need

To be a successful candidate you will have:

  • Relevant program specific qualifications and expertise
  • Industry relevant experience coordinating and implementing services, and supporting individuals and teams to deliver client outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a high performing team and maintain a positive workplace culture
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage relationships across multi-functional or multi-disciplinary teams to achieve agreed objectives
  • High level communication, consultation and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational skills including the capacity for critical thinking and a systemic approach to prioritisation.
