About the Program

The Tiwi Youth Behaviour Change Program is a pilot to develop an early intervention program for young people starting to use domestic and family violence (DFV). The program will include identifying and delivering culturally appropriate and targeted interventions to young people aged 11-17 to help them understand the impact of their violence, take responsibility for their behaviour, and change their attitudes and behaviours.

About the Role

The Youth Behaviour Change Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of the Tiwi Youth Behaviour Change program, run on the Tiwi Islands, to ensure the program meets its objectives.

This position has a particular focus on working with program outcomes, risk management, evaluation, and reporting. This role will support the program through group facilitation and ensuring program materials are designed appropriately with Tiwi culture.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant degree, associate diploma or qualifications, in addition to relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of behaviour change theories, experience in project management and leading collaborative initiatives, particularly in the field of youth development or violence prevention
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of evaluation methodologies
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of key partners, stakeholders, community groups and organisations, particularly with Aboriginal people and communities, and working in partnership with them to achieve community goals
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation
