About the program

CatholicCare NT (CCNT) is a not-for-profit organisation, providing social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools and agencies across the Northern Territory. The Gambling and My Community program focuses on reducing gambling-related harm by raising awareness through educational activities delivered to groups and individuals.

About the role

As the Program Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating programs aimed at providing services for individuals and communities facing challenges related to gambling.

The Program Officer will be responsible for leading and facilitating the following:

  • Promoting and delivering culturally appropriate evidence-based education sessions and events to the community.
  • Engage and develop strong rapport with community leaders, agencies and stakeholders to improve efficacy of participant outcomes.
  • Drive social media campaigns to bring awareness to gambling-related harm and highlight program services.
  • Develop digital resources, educational and promotional materials in line with program, CCNT Reconciliation Action Plan and CCNT Climate Action Plan.
  • Supporting Gambling Harm Educators in building their community development skills.

What you will need to make the program a success

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in social work, counselling, psychology or related field (diploma or degree-level).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of gambling-related issues and the social and psychological factors that contribute to gambling harm.
  • Experience delivering health promotion activities, community education or workforce education.
  • Proven ability to develop partnerships in urban and remote settings with agencies, Aboriginal organisations and stakeholders.
