About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, we are seeking two Employment Support Officers, based in our Maitland and Cessnock office to support Disability Employment Support (DES) participants once placed in a position to assist with the maintenance and ongoing sustainability of their employment.

Working as a part of a collaborative team, through effective delivery of post placement support, you will assist participants as they work towards independence in the workplace. You will be required to:

  • Maintain employer and participant relationships.
  • Support employers and participants through identifying and implementing suitable workplace interventions.
  • Gather evidence of employment and identify new employment opportunities within businesses that could suit other participants who are working Castle Personnel to find employment.
  • Work closely with the employee, assisting them to up skill and become an integral and valued member of the workplace.

This is a 'hands on' and varied position, where no two days are ever the same. You will need to be willing and able to roll up your sleeves, get involved to train and assist your participants to achieve sustainable employment.

Both positions are Full Time Permanent roles with one primarily based at our Maitland office and the other at our Cessnock office – however you may be required to work from any of our locations. Some flexibility may be required at times across working locations and hours in order to support participants.

Experience is preferred, but not essential

  • Effective communication with the ability to build strong relationships with participants, employers, peers and other stakeholders
  • The ability to learn and fully adopt new software packages and electronic business systems, including the use of ESS
  • Strong diary and task management skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to meet and achieve strict KPIs
  • Ability to deal with a significant volume of paperwork to ensure we are meeting and exceeding required obligations.
  • Competent with MS Office word & Excel and the use of electronic information systems

Essential Criteria:

  • NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver’s licence (minimum P2)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as per NSW health orders
