Casey North Community Information and Support Service (CNCISS) offers a suite of wrap-around support services and provides excellent linkages and referral points to people approaching us for support and information services. Programs are staffed by both qualified professional staff, and a well-trained volunteer team. This model incorporates core services including the provision of community information, referral and advocacy services, social work and counselling, emergency relief, financial counselling and financial capability, microfinance NILS, outreach information and support services, and relationship strengthening for families. Particularly programs have been developed to assist people suffering disadvantage and financial hardship.
Our Reception staff are the first point of contact for all callers to CNCISS and the role provides the important function of ensuring each caller or visitor feels welcome, is connected to the right worker, and receives correct information.
Reception can from time to time become quite hectic as the worker is responsible for answering incoming calls and assisting clients that present in person.
This casual role is replacing the incumbent receptionist from early June through to mid-September this year. Hours of work will be from 1pm to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10am to 6pm on Wednesdays when we are open late. Morning work will be required during an initial two-week training period.
If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling to make ends meet, are cool and calm and good at simultaneously scheduling appointments, liaising with staff and volunteers to make things happen, dealing with a phone that rarely stops ringing and welcoming clients into our centre then this is the job for you.
Our ideal candidate will have worked previously in the Community Sector, preferably in a reception role. They will be good communicators and possibly speak a language in addition to English.
A non-judgmental attitude is essential as is the ability to communicate tactfully both face-to-face and over the telephone.
This role is office based in a ground floor building in Narre Warren, close to Fountain Gate Shopping Centre and the Webb St train station.
We offer off street parking, an ergonomically designed workstation and a supportive and cohesive team work environment.
