Carers Victoria is a leading not-for-profit organisation, working to make sure that the almost one million unpaid carers across the state are understood, recognised and supported. We do this by providing information, advice and respite services to carers; by hosting education sessions and events to support them in their role; by gathering and analysing data and producing reports about carers and what they need; and by raising broad awareness of carers across the whole community. We are in a significant period of change, looking at how we can reach and support even more carers through innovative models, systems and thinking.

The Position

An exciting new role at Carers Victoria to coordinate quality, compliance, risk and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Working closely with staff and leaders, the role will ensure that there are appropriate systems and processes in place to support compliance with regulatory, accreditation and other quality assurance requirements, and promote safety, quality and improvement.

Critical aspects of the role include:   

  • Overseeing activity, compliance, risk and regulatory reporting and progressing enhancements to these systems to streamline collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinating responses to compliance matters by providing advice and management of any issues triggering formal notification processes to external agencies and acting as the organisation’s Privacy Officer.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of current compliance and regulatory requirements and upcoming changes to these.
  • Identifying opportunities to support improvements to systems and practices that can enhance the effectiveness and/or efficiency of Carers Victoria’s quality, safety and risk practices.

THE PERSON

This dynamic and cross organisational role will suit an experienced quality, continuous improvement or risk coordinator with well-developed project and change management skills and:

  • Experience in a quality, compliance, risk or OHS role in highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding legislative requirements and supporting compliance with those requirements.
  • Exposure to risk management techniques in a customer focused organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail and application of this to timely and accurate recording and reporting.
  • Experience in auditing and compliance specifically for community services or health organisation would be highly regarding.
  • Experience providing guidance and training to staff and management.
  • Experience successfully leading an organisation through accreditation processes.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to address issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Handle multiple activities and priorities simultaneously with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.

  • SCHADS Level 5 plus generous entitlements under the Carers Victoria EBA
  • $98 000 - $103 000 dependent on skills and experience, gross pro rata + Super + generous not-for-profit Salary Packaging
  • Conveniently located office in Melbourne CBD, with excellent hybrid working arrangements
