The role
Coastrek is one of Australia's most iconic charity hiking challenges for women. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with some of the Heart Foundations most passionate Coastrek fundraisers and volunteers nationally.
We are seeking an energetic person to coordinate Coastrek fundraiser support activities, and volunteer recruitment to deliver Coastrek events with our exclusive partnership with Wild Women on Top.
Key accountabilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective, new, and existing volunteers and fundraisers and support event fundraisers to reach (and exceed) their fundraising goals.
- Implement a volunteer recruitment strategy to ensure all events are supported by engaged and passionate volunteers.
- Maintain effective communication with all fundraisers, making calls, sending emails, personalised videos, SMS, meeting with people in person and making presentations (online or in person).
- Work with the business to help to develop and follow a meaningful communication journey to recruit and steward event volunteers and channel them to the Wild Women on Top registration platform.
- Attend all Coastrek events across Australia. Activities include setting up, manning, and packing down the Heart Foundation activation areas and interacting with participants and their families.
- Implement planned and collaborative recognition activities for event volunteers, supporters, and fundraisers (including merchandise).
- Contribute to event working groups with other areas of the Heart Foundation business and event partners to maintain close working relationships and information sharing (includes People and Culture team, Information Technology, Digital Channels, Marketing and Health teams)
- Ensure our records are accurate and available, and fundraiser updates are in relevant databases (Raisers Edge).
- Review and undertake compliance for Community Fundraising programs, including due diligence, accurate processing, and management of Authority to Fundraise documents.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience in a relevant business discipline such as events coordination, fundraising, volunteer management.
- Strong customer service and relationship management experience, across a range of a channels.
- Demonstrated time management, administrative and organisational skills.
- Clear written and excellent verbal communication skills to collaborate and negotiate.
- Understanding of volunteer involvement in an event context (desirable).
- Fundraising experience (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to work productively both autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, as well as a good understanding of SharePoint, Zoom, Customer Relationship Management database experience (for example Raisers Edge/NXT).
