The role

This is a pivotal and newly created role to join a small dedicated team to educate the public, institutions and government on effective alternative methods to animal experimentation. Use your skills to design and implement an organisational marketing plan that leads to strong growth in fundraising for this important cause.

Your role will include:

  • Developing and implementing campaigns for legal reforms protecting animals from experimentation
  • Identifying and leading public engagement opportunities to support campaigns
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating digital advertising campaigns
  • Growing the Member/Supporter base by improving digital reach and transforming supporters into engaged members and donors
  • Managing the organisation’s social media platforms

About you

You have a keen understanding of the Australian political system and its legislative processes and you can tell a story that brings people along with you as you campaign for change. You thrive in an environment where taking the initiative and working to deadlines is essential.

In addition, you will have:

  • A degree in communications, politics, advertising, marketing, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Developed effective campaign strategies backed by clear marketing plans
  • An understanding of the ethical and scientific arguments against animal experimentation, or willingness to devote personal time to self-learning
  • Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, web analytics and reporting
  • Experience creating content for and analysing results from the major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Video editing and/or Graphic design skills (e.g. Indesign / Photoshop / Canva) is highly desirable

This organisation has a commitment to health and safety, as such all employees must already be (or have the willingness to be) triple vaccinated against COVID-19. You will also need to apply for a Working with Children Check if you do not have a current one.
