The PNG–Australia Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP) is a critical, high-priority Australian investment that stands to make a major contribution to PNG development outcomes.
Working closely with the Government of PNG (GoPNG), TSSP3 will build on the significant body of achievements, lessons, and relationships from the past 15 years of operation and will continue to contribute to the achievement of the overarching goal of:
‘A more effective, efficient, and inclusive transport system, enabling the economic and social development of PNG.’
The Deputy Team Leader/Knowledge Management & Innovation Director (DTL/Director) will lead TSSP3’s MERLA, Knowledge Management (including management information systems), Locally Led Development (LLD) & Capacity Strengthening, and Communication & Public Diplomacy (PD) teams.
The DTL/Director will oversee programmatic reporting (annual, six-monthly, exception) and annual planning – driving a culture of high performance, client-focused service delivery, and setting the standard for program implementation and innovation. This will include ensuring GEDSI, Safeguards (social and environmental), LLD, and Climate Change and Disaster Resilience (CCDR) are integrated into TSSP3’s approach and deliverables.
The DTL/Director will utilise their exceptional communication and relationship management skills to drive effective engagement with GoPNG partners and the Australian High Commission (AHC) and will ensure deliverables requiring AHC and GoPNG participation are planned, managed, and coordinated effectively.
As a senior leadership position, the DTL/Director will play a critical and active role on the TSSP3 Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring a cohesive approach with the TSSP3 leadership team in Australia’s support to PNG’s transport sector.
The DTL/Director will act as Team Leader when delegated.
