As the Social Planning and Projects Officer, you will be at the forefront of driving positive change. Your responsibilities include engaging with the community and stakeholders to plan, implement, and evaluate social policies, strategies, and projects. You will stay up to date with the local government’s social policy and planning context, offering recommendations for future development. You will also lead the implementation and monitoring of Cardinia Shire’s Social and Affordable Housing Strategy, making a lasting impact on housing and homelessness issues.
Not only that, but you will also facilitate partnerships with relevant agencies and maintain positive relationships across state government departments. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping policy by embedding social planning principles across Council and supporting advocacy on key social issues within the community.
The ideal candidate for this role will be able to utilise experience and qualifications in social and community planning, strategic planning, statutory planning, or public policy to implement, monitor and review key elements of Cardinia Shire’s Liveability Plan, such as the Social and Affordable Housing Strategy and other related social policy. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to build solid ongoing professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also meet the following criteria:
