Carbon Positive Australia is an independent charity that brings together individuals, groups and organisations to plant trees and take practical action toward natural biodiversity-based carbon management. For over 20 years, we have been planting on degraded land to sequester carbon and revitalise and improve the health of landscapes and communities across the country.

As the Corporate Fundraising Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and securing strategic partnerships to support our organisation's reforestation initiatives and carbon offset programs. This position requires a strong background in business development, fundraising and a deep understanding of the reforestation and carbon markets.

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy alongside the Head of Partnerships with a specific focus on forging partnerships with organisations and businesses.
  • Identify potential fundraising opportunities, donor networks, and funding sources to support the organisation's reforestation projects and carbon offset programs.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, potential collaborators, and emerging opportunities.

Partnership Development

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including corporations, foundations, government agencies, and non-profit organisations to establish strategic fundraising partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships to identify and prioritise potential partners aligned with our objectives.
  • Negotiate and secure partnerships, sponsorships and funding agreements.

Proposal Development and Grant Writing

  • Prepare compelling and persuasive proposals, grant applications, and pitch materials tailored to specific fundraising opportunities and partner requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop project proposals, ensuring alignment with funder expectations and compliance with industry standards.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing funding partners, ensuring timely reporting, impact assessment, and effective communication.
  • Provide regular updates to partners on project progress, milestones achieved, and the overall impact of their contributions.
  • Seek opportunities to engage partners in ongoing collaboration, volunteer initiatives, or other involvement that strengthens their commitment to our reforestation and carbon programs.

Industry Networking and Representation

  • Act as a representative of the organisation at industry events, conferences and meetings related to reforestation, carbon markets, and sustainable development.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, including potential funders, thought leaders, and experts to enhance the organisation's visibility and influence.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of successful business development and fundraising experience, preferably within the reforestation carbon sector or related environmental fields.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability reporting, carbon markets, reforestation, and forest carbon offset projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in proposal development, grant writing, and securing funding from corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to identify new funding prospects and trends in the reforestation carbon sector.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to combating climate change through reforestation initiatives.

The post is 30.4 hours per week, worked flexibly Monday to Friday and can be home based (Australia wide). The job seeker must have the right to work in Australia.
