The Caraniche Forensic Youth Service is a Victorian, state-wide provider of Youth Offending Programs to the Youth Justice sector. Caraniche Forensic Youth Service operate under a “one team” philosophy where there is opportunity for cross learning and support between teams.
This Mobile Community Clinician role will be based out of our Parkville office. There is also capacity for clinicians to base themselves out of locations in regional Victoria (Morwell - La Trobe Valley), co-habiting with Youth Justice.
This is a highly specialised role that offers an opportunity for a mix of assessment (i.e. conducting comprehensive risk assessments) and delivery of treatment. This is also a very independent role, as you will have autonomy in regards to scheduling clients and ample opportunity to build relationships with Youth Justice staff working in dedicated regions.
Please note during COVID-19 restrictions this position may involve telehealth delivery and working remotely.
We have worked hard to create a positive, collaborative team culture comprising skilled clinicians committed to providing evidence-based treatment to address offending and promote long term behaviour change.
We are looking for a clinician (Psychologist or Social Worker) who is a team player, is client focused, has a warm empathic and engaging style, and is wanting to provide early intervention and support for young people who have entered the justice system.
Ideally, applicants will have experience with, and/or a strong desire to work with a youth cohort who are culturally and linguistically diverse and present with varied needs including complex trauma, behavioural issues, mental health, substance use, and low cognitive functioning.
This is a fast paced and dynamic role so organisational skills - including an ability to prioritise tasks - is essential.
