About the Team

The Capital Health Network (CHN) GP Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (WPP) Team provides advice on community workforce needs and training capacity to the Department of Health and Aged Care to inform the Australian General Practice Training distribution targets. CHN is the lead organisation of a consortium of the eleven ACT/NSW PHNs who form the WPP organisation. The WPP Team manages the state-wide implementation of the WPP Program to deliver workforce planning needs assessment, identify training and capacity requirements, and mapping training pathways and GP training placements.

About the Role

The GP Advisor, GP WPP is an advisory role based at CHN, the lead PHN of the ACT NSW PHN Consortium. This position is focussed on providing clinical input into the GP WPP Program across the Consortium. This role will support the WPP team to deliver reports including workforce training needs and capacity assessments. This program plays a key role in informing College planning of GP training including the quality and distribution of training to meet community health needs and the needs of multiple stakeholders.

You are a fellowed GP who is currently registered with AHPRA and your passion for GP training in the ACT will see you make a key contribution to WPP reports that will guide distribution of GP registrars in ACT communities where they are most needed. While you will work within the CHN WPP team, your strong interpersonal skills will support positive engagement with local stakeholders as well as collaboration with other GP Advisors across NSW.

Work location

This position is based in our Deakin office and has been designed to support a hybrid work model so you can successfully perform some of your role from you home office if desired. We support flexibility at CHN and happy to work with the successful candidate to ensure balance between work and life.
