The Role

The State Support Officer Role involves the coordination and facilitation of administration duties within the state, including, but not limited to:

Area 1: Office Management

  • General reception duties, providing excellent customer service as first point of contact to everyone who contacts the state.
  • Assisting state staff with bookings for appointments and travel.
  • Coordinating general post duties, as well as large mail outs to relevant stakeholders, and general correspondence queries.
  • Maintaining office equipment, supplies and relevant database information.

Area 2: Relationships & Program Support

  • Coordinating state activities and logistics for National Bandanna Day.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of referrers to enhance stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide feedback / reports after local activities.
  • Support the coordination of local programs with Program Officers by overseeing scheduling and booking duties.

Area 3: Accounts & Finance

  • Coding and assisting in processing any incoming monies (e.g. donations) and invoices.
  • Investigating any anomalies of information on the Profit and Loss report in consultation with the State Manager.
  • Coordinating and reconciling petty cash and cash advances as needed.

Essential Criteria

  • At least 2 year’s proven experience in a similar position is desirable.
  • Proficient in computer skills (MS Office).
  • Project support and planning experience.
  • Basic knowledge of account and book-keeping tasks

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.

Nature of Work

Location: North Melbourne – flexible working arrangements

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time.

Remuneration: $60,000 - 62,000 + Salary Packaging + Superannuation

Hours of Work: 5 days / 37.5 hours per week.

*Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.

General Information

  • Staff are required to adhere to Canteen’s Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures which includes holding police and working with children checks relevant to the individual's state.
  • Canteen employees are encouraged to have received the recommended doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Canteen will conduct at least two reference checks on successful applicants and will also require proof of any professional qualifications stated on an application.
  • Employees will contribute to the safety and quality of care for service users and their families to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery.
