Join Canteen and help young people affected by cancer in a caring and compassionate team culture
Canteen acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples and sovereign custodians of this land. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Canteen is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and people of all ages. We welcome all people including those from diverse backgrounds, faiths, sexual orientation and/or gender identities.
Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Canteen has had a significant focus on building a strong Regular Giving income stream and as such, now holds one of the most successful Regular Giving programs in the country. We are now seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join our team where you will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of major donors and major donor prospects; taking supporters on a journey of discovery and engagement with Canteen’s mission.
This is a high-impact role for a qualified Philanthropy Manager with a natural ability to connect and support.
We connect, we empower, we challenge, and we are real. These values ground the way we work at Canteen, and underpin a culture that brings people together, collectively, in an inspiring and positive way. Being a part of our team offers you a rewarding, purposeful and genuine experience, with endless opportunities.
In the world of Fundraising opportunities, we’re proud to say this one is a stand-out. Backed by Canteen’s brand and the work we do helping young people navigate their cancer journey, you’ll be a part of a supportive and connected team. We are open to part-time if that’s what works for you and most of all, in the energy of a positive work environment.
*Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.
If you’re passionate about what you do and are ready to make a difference, apply now. Do not delay in applying as we will be reviewing applications periodically during this time. Please submit your Resume and Cover Letter outlining your relevant experience.
Only applicants selected for interview will be contacted.
To ensure an ongoing commitment to the success of Canteen, all applications must be able to:
