The role of the Graphic Designer is to provide creative advice, and to execute Cancer Institute NSW visual communications, including graphic design (for print and digital channels) layout, branding, photography, video and print production to support the Institute’s communications strategy and the NSW Cancer Plan.
You will have demonstrated graphic design experience in design studio or a creative communications environment, with exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills. You will have the ability to receive highly complex briefs/information and translate these into simple, effective visual communications including infographics. Your high-level analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail are critical to the role.
Your understanding of and experience in, corporate branding, layout, colour theory and typography in both print and digital media is essential as is your experience in print production, including a sound knowledge of the various print formats, methods, materials, finishes and specifications. You will be able to critically understand the functional needs of marketing materials and their intended audiences. In addition you will have experience in providing strategic communication counsel and creative rationale across all levels of management and staff to achieve wider communication and organisational objectives.
Proficiency in video editing software, photography/filmography would be highly regarded.
All Cancer Institute roles are based at Eveleigh, however, the Ministry of Health will be relocating the Cancer Institute to St Leonards in mid-2020.
The Cancer Institute NSW is unable to offer salary packaging. Salaries will be negotiated commensurate to experience and qualifications of the role.
