about the role

Are you seeking a role with a values-driven for purpose organisation where you can support young people in our community? Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals? Use your expertise to make an impact on the lives of the vulnerable young people we support.

This part-time, 12-month contract role (rotating roster of approximately 0.7 FTE) supports our young people in achieving their goals, assisting with living skills, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The role includes implementing service standards, facilitating referrals to housing, health, and education services, and maintaining documentation.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you:

  • Hold (or are currently studying) a Bachelor in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or similar.
  • Can demonstrate experience working holistically with vulnerable young people, using brief solution-focussed crisis interventions and ongoing case managed support.
  • Have experience building trusting working relationships with marginalised young people and providing targeted interventions.
  • Are able to facilitate individual and group activities providing positive engagement with young people.
  • Have personal drive and integrity and are able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Can bring a consultative and collaborative working attitude.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; and COVID-19.
