Byron Shire Council is currently seeking a Rough Sleeping Project Officer to join the Backbone Team of the Ending Rough Sleeping Collaboration - a Project that is dedicated to reducing and ending rough sleeping in our local community.
In this role you will be tasked with developing a Community Engagement Plan and leading its activities, as well as the Plan’s evaluation and linking this with the wider Project outcomes and evaluation. Engagement activities include building and maintaining diverse stakeholder relationships, codesigning and facilitating workshops, as well as developing and delivering training and education workshops and resources to raise awareness of local homelessness as well as engaging the community to the initiative.
As this Project aligns with the Advance to Zero Methodology to end homelessness, you are required to utilise and adapt these systems, tools, and approaches to local needs. This includes leading, coordinating, and facilitating a local Service Coordination Project, as well as supporting with the implementation of a local By Name List, a comprehensive list of every person in a community experiencing homelessness, that’s updated in real time.
Working with the Data and Learning Officer, you will manage social research projects, using data and evidence to generate insights. You will also be required to support the Backbone Lead – Ending Rough Sleeping Collaboration with establishing the Collaborative Governance Mechanism of the Project, as well as support with other daily operations of the Project.
This position is based at Mullumbimby however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
