Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic, relational leader who can cultivate meaningful partnerships with Baptist churches, schools, and individual supporters across SA and the Northern Territory.

Through both your team leadership and personal portfolio management, churches, schools and major donors will deepen their relationships with Baptist World Aid, leading to a deeper understanding of God’s work amongst people living in poverty, and increased prayer, advocacy action, and giving. As a result, more individuals, churches, and schools will donate to Baptist World Aid.

This role is ideal for someone with both ministry and fundraising experience, a love for the local church, and a commitment to ensuring we faithfully support people experiencing poverty. You’ll work closely as part of the Baptist Churches of South Australia and the Northern Territory (BCSANT) team, serve as an ambassador for Baptist World Aid, and support cross-team collaboration in church engagement, philanthropy, and schools.

You live in Adelaide to allow you spend your time around the areas of greatest density of Baptist churches and major donors. You will be set up to work remotely from home, and regularly visit the BCSANT office (approx. 1 day/week).

Who Are You?

You’re already a leader in the church—ideally a Baptist pastor with deep connection to the SA/NT Baptist movement. You feel called to extend your impact beyond one congregation and inspire faith communities across SA/NT to join God’s restorative work around the world.

You’re a strong communicator and a strategic relationship-builder. You have experience creating mission-focussed partnerships with individuals, businesses or organisations towards clear goals. You’re highly organised, outcomes-focused, and aligned to the heart and ethos of the Baptist movement in Australia.

What You Bring

  • Active and growing Christian faith
  • Strong interpersonal and account management/sales/fundraising skills
  • Experience leading and coaching teams
  • Theological training or equivalent pastoral/ministry experience
  • Understanding of the Baptist movement in SA/NT
  • Ability to travel regularly and work from home

What We Offer

At Baptist World Aid, we want you to flourish. Our Better World Benefits include:

  • Salary packaging of $15899 + $2650 Meal & Entertainment allowance to increase your take-home pay (plus additional benefits for those eligible as a minister of religion)
  • Generous leave provisions, including Life Leave, paid parental leave, and extra days at Christmas
  • Opportunities to travel overseas with Baptist World Aid Encounter Trips
  • Flexible work options (including up to 4 weeks working from anywhere in the world)
  • Learning and development support
  • Wellbeing support through Employee Assistance and Chaplaincy services
