We use filmmaking and the film industry to educate, create, advocate and facilitate opportunities for people with disability on both sides of the camera. We are looking for an experienced Media and Digital Marketing Manager to join our team and take our brand, programs, films and organisation to the next level through the development and implementation of a strategic creative digital, media and marketing plan. We're after a creative, fun and kind person to join our team and spread the word of our amazing work and impact.

The purpose of the role is to design and implement a strategic digital media and marketing plan and continuously elevate and evaluate the campaigns, content and channels to ensure we are performing at a high level and have brand awareness through both film and disability sector.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly into the CEO the person will be responsible for:

  • Development of an organisation wide Media and Marketing Plan and sub plans for key activities.
  • Identifying media and marketing opportunities to elevate Bus Stop’s programs, projects and people at a national level.
  • Working with our Publicist, to prepare media releases and manage media enquiries. Including pitching and managing stories.
  • Management of all social/digital platforms, costs and advertising budget. Including creating dynamic, engaging and accessible, moving and static content which reflects our brand and purpose, for our social platforms. As well as expanding on the current platforms Bus Stop Films utilises.
  • Keeping on top of marketing trends and best practice to ensure that Bus Stop Films products are well positioned and optimised through the appropriate channels and partnerships.
  • Providing monthly reporting on our social engagement, media mentions, campaigns, website traffic, service quotas, and target audience.
  • Working with Film Distribution Development Manager to create posters and publicity packs (electronic press kits) to promote screenings and accolades for our film projects.
  • Working with the Marketing and Events Coordinator to ensure key events are well promoted and identify strategies to grow attendance, sponsorships and philanthropic donations.
  • Working with the Marketing and Events Coordinator on the management of newsletters, campaigns and key communications.
  • Plan all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns. Liaising with Marketing and Event Coordinator to implement campaigns.
  • Ensuring BSF recognises events and days of significance to our community e.g. World Down Syndrome Day, Disability Pride Month, Oscars, Special Olympics, IDPWD etc.

We're a small but mighty team and we're looking for someone who is organised, strategic, creative and connected into both the media and marketing landscape, has strong attention to detail, exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can be strategic but also a doer. A knowledge of film/TV industry and/or not for profit sector is desirable.

Key attributes

  • 5+ years of experience within Digital Marketing and a proven track record of success. Ability to create impactful content and digital clips.
  • Qualifications in Media, Communications or Digital Marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, SEO, Google Ad Words and Canva.
  • Ability to create memorable clips and content that makes an impact!

Key Qualities

  • Detailed orientated and deadline driven with delivery of high quality output.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in an educational environment (desirable)
  • A team player and can work in a fast and dynamic environment
  • Be a self-starter, able to work both alone (remotely) and as part of a team.

How many hours per week?

The role is full time. 38 Hour week. We would consider 4 days a week for the right person.

Where is the job?

We are based in Sydney and work between home and our office in Carlton in Southern Sydney. Close to the train station and lots of free un-timed parking.

We love flexible work/life integration.

Some weekend or out of hours work may be required.
