The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Coordinator to join Burnet!

In this role, you will coordinate and support the implementation of the Effectiveness of germicidal ultraviolet Light in an Upper room Configuration In Decreasing COVID-19 in Aged-care Residential facilities (ELUCIDAR) clinical trial. You will work closely with investigators, site staff, collaborators and stakeholders to ensure the study is delivered in accordance with clinical trial protocols, ethical requirements and project timelines.

You will also:

• Coordinate the day-to-day implementation and management of a multi-site clinical trial and associated research activities.
• Prepare and manage study documentation, ethics submissions, amendments and reporting requirements.
• Support project planning, financial monitoring, stakeholder engagement and research governance activities.
• Coordinate site engagement, data collection, safety reporting and study communications.
• Provide research coordination advice and support to other projects within the Know-C19 Program as required.

This is a 0.8 FTE, 12-month fixed-term position (1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027) based at Melbourne. The role offers flexible working arrangements and the option to work from home up to 1 - 2 days per week.

Let’s talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

• Previous experience as a clinical trial or public health research coordinator with demonstrated research and project management skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics, research integrity and clinical trial governance requirements.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in science, health science, public health or a related discipline.
• Experience coordinating complex research projects, including project administration, stakeholder engagement, documentation management and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience supporting clinical trials, including protocol management, ethics submissions, data collection, safety reporting and study documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The following are desirable but not essential:

• A postgraduate qualification in public health, research, project or program management, or a related discipline.
• Experience working as a healthcare professional, particularly within the aged care sector.
