The Opportunity

In this role you will oversee a mix of operational management, project work, and strategic initiatives. You will lead a dynamic team of HR professionals, providing support to enhance various HR functions with a strong focus on organisational wide service delivery. You will also lead key HR projects and collaborate closely with the Chief People Offer to develop and implement a People Strategy for the organisation.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the HR team, resolving complex matters and acting as a point of escalation.
  • Utilising people metrics to drive the enhancement of HR service delivery within the organisation.
  • Supporting the development of a People Strategy (in collaboration with the Chief People Officer) and leading its implementation.
  • Leading two significant compliance projects relating to legislative changes in fixed-term employment and workplace sexual harassment.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on complex employment relations issues.
  • Keeping your own knowledge and People policies up to date with employment law legislation and contemporary people practices.

This is a full time, 18-month parental leave cover position. You will have flexible working hours as well as the option of working from home up to two days per week.

Let’s talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources.
  • A minimum 3 years of experience working at a senior HR level managing a team.
  • Significant experience in management of complex employment relations matters and in-depth knowledge of relevant employment law.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing an impactful HR strategy spanning operational, strategic and cultural change.
  • Previous experience building a high performing team, growing careers, and fostering a psychologically safe and enjoyable work environment for staff.
  • An innovative mindset and a solid understanding of contemporary HR best practice.
