We’re looking for a professional Senior Support Officer with relevant experience who wants to join our team of 1500 employees and 1000 volunteers to make a difference on a 12-month, full-time maximum term contract, working 38 per week based in Broadmeadows.

THE ROLE

The Senior Support Officer leads and delivers the Economic Pathways to Refugee Integration (EPRI) Program, including candidate engagement, recruitment, prevocational training as well as employer engagement and on the job support.

This role also supports the program by providing;

  • Expert skills in English language development
  • Clarification of rights and responsibilities in the employee/employer relationship and agreement
  • Both prevocational and on the job coaching to ensure candidate understanding of those responsibilities as they relate to workplace Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems and requirements

The salary will be between $80,000 and $85,000 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • A strong track record of successfully supporting disadvantaged jobseekers in sustainable employment by providing pre-employment skills building, vocational guidance, social support, and post-placement support.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Agreements, Common Law Contracts and Legislation related to employment
  • High attention to detail and ability to develop and tailor training module content for prevocational work preparation programs
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of record management systems to record information, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook programs
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of employment pathways.
  • Experience working with external employers including supervisors, hiring managers and HR staff.
  • Strong capacity to engage and support people with a refugee background with low educational attainment and/or English language ability.
  • Customer service focused
  • Highly-developed administration, computer skills and competency in Microsoft Program
