Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council

About BRMC

The Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Ballarat and the Central Highlands. We promote social cohesion, cultural inclusion, and community understanding through a range of programs, partnerships, and training initiatives.

About the Role – Speakers Bureau Members

BRMC is launching a new Speakers Bureau, and we’re looking for individuals to share personal stories of migration or coming to Australia as a refugee. Speakers will contribute to training sessions, sector events, and community forums, helping to build understanding, challenge stereotypes, and promote inclusion.

Speakers will work closely with our Cultural Training Facilitators, participating as lived experience voices in sessions that are grounded in the real stories and perspectives of people from our communities.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about cultural diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism
  • Confident communicators with empathy and openness
  • Willing to share their lived experiences to educate and inspire others

Lived experience of migration or refugee background is essential.

These are paid casual roles under the SCHADS Award. BRMC provides training, mentoring, and a welcoming, supportive team.
