At Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary we empower, educate and inspire our community to connect and care for wildlife, their habitats and the environment. Every year our rescue service handles more than 17,000 calls for sick, injured and orphaned animals, with many being treated at the Bonorong Wildlife Hospital. Our patients include endemic and migratory species, including several listed as endangered and found nowhere else on planet Earth.
To support the growing number of wild animals requiring specialist veterinary treatment, Bonorong is expanding its operations through extended operating hours, recruitment of additional veterinary resources and construction of a state-of-the-art primary care centre. We also facilitate a cat desexing program aimed at stemming the tide of feral cats and their devastating impact on wildlife.
Expressions of interest are invited from qualified veterinarians at all stages of their careers. If you would like to be involved now or at any time in the future, on either a permanent or fixed-term basis, we would love to hear from you. If you’ve ever considered an extended working holiday, a sabbatical, or a wholescale tree-change, we can help!
By joining the Bonorong team, you'll be contributing to a sustainable staffing model in tune with the seasonal ebb and flow or injured and orphaned animals. In return, we’ll provide you with an opportunity to participate in leading-edge scientific research, frontline conservation work and community education.
To express an interest in this exciting opportunity, send your resume and a maximum two-page supporting statement to our Primary Care Director via the "Apply Now" button.
Expressions of interest are also invited from vets wishing to participate in our cat desexing program as advocates for responsible cat ownership and the protection of native species.
