Applications are invited for the ongoing part-time role of Office Manager & Events Organiser at the Green Institute, the official research Institute for the Australian Greens. This role is based in Brisbane Qld.

The Office Manager & Events Organiser will be part of a small team assisting in a wide variety of tasks from office administration and logistics to fundraising, event and volunteer organising, and writing public facing communications for the Institute.

The role will offer the opportunity for upskilling and experience in a wide variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Manage email inboxes, office budgets/finances, and filing systems for the Green Institute
  • Organise flights and other travel logistics for other Green Institute staff
  • Organise event logistics, including booking venues, liaising with speakers, and paying invoices
  • Assist the Operations Director in delivering major organising projects
  • Help drive fundraising with written communication and direct donor contact
  • Assist with other administration tasks at the Institute

Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to work as part of a small team, under time constraints and tight deadlines, with a high level of independence.
  • Highly developed written, verbal, organisational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in office administration and/or accounting
  • Alignment with progressive Greens values and a commitment to making positive change, and ideally experience talking about Greens policies and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated capacity to comprehend complex issues, think strategically, solve problems and adapt to changing circumstances

Other desirable qualities:

  • Experience using Google Workspace
  • Open drivers licence and access to a car
  • Experience working with, and organising, volunteers

A probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension by a maximum of two months.

Employment Conditions

Employment conditions outlined in the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) . Depending on the level of skills and experience of the successful candidate, the position will be paid at between payment level SCHADS 5.1 - 5.3:

  • Between $83,442.53 - $87,221.98 for 4 days a week. The full time equivalent rate is $104,303.16 - $109,027.48 per annum
  • Employer superannuation contribution of 12%
  • This is an ongoing contract and will commence on the 13th of July, but may be open to negotiation
