Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.
The Mental Health (MH) Hospital in the Home (HITH) service is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week team working across three shifts. The team is a tertiary-level multidisciplinary mental health drug and alcohol team. Its aim is to provide timely and effective, intensive treatment and support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs, in their home environment.
We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated senior peer workers to be part of the Mental Health Hospital in the Home Service. In this role, you will:
You will draw upon your own lived experience as a carer of someone who has accessed public mental health services, to inform your practice. Your role will involve liaising with the MHDAS clinical teams, relevant to the areas within the service, for example within the emergency department, mental health inpatient units, drugs and alcohol service and the community.
