Our Anglicare Shops are connection points in their local communities and sell a wide range of high quality, recycled clothing, and accessories at affordable prices. Our Shops provide a hub for the community and a safe place where you can drop in, feel valued and find a caring, listening ear.

This is a Casual role.

About the role:

Anglicare is open a few Op Shops in the City, Inner West & Inner East. We are seeking motivated and energetic Casual Shop Assistants to join our Anglicare Op Shop team to help set up, open and help with the operations of these new Op Shops. You will be working with a team of Shop Assistants and Volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of people in need and providing excellent customer service to our customers.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Ensure shop monies are always secure and a safe workplace is maintained
  • Provide excellent customer service and a holistic experience to customers
  • Provide leadership to Volunteers and be a role model to engender an environment where Anglicare’s mission and vision are embraced.
  • Ensure Volunteers are supported and foster strong teamwork

About you:

  • Previous experience in a retail environment (desirable)
  • Valid paid Working with Children's Check (WWC)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to relate to a diverse customer group with compassion and kindness
  • Excellent customer service and retail experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed numeracy skills
  • Covid – 19 vaccination is strongly recommended
