About the role:

The Koori Support Officer – Corrections Victoria role and responsibilities are to provide student support and assist Site Managers in the North West Metro Region with the coordination of special projects and/or required activity to ensure primary outcome of contractual delivery are achieved by performing:

1. Assistance and support to Indigenous students to achieve contract delivery outcomes
2. Participate in project and/or activities to assist with creative cultural arts and cultural well-being
3. Encourage Indigenous community engagement and stakeholder participation in educational projects

This position is based in a Prison environment and the role does require prisoner contact.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Koorie Culture
• Koori Culture: Understands the Koorie culture.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Understands and meets the needs of the target audience through clear and concise speech and grammatically correct and appropriate formatted written communications.
• Organising and Planning: Identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal, developing systems to guide and track progress, effectively finding solutions to barriers.
