The Role

The Speakers and Ambassadors Lead role will be responsible for overseeing a team of 28 Ambassadors and around 240 Speakers Australia wide. This includes the recruitment and training of new speakers, overseeing the day to day management of filling speaker requests and engaging speakers across Australia.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing a Speakers Strategy and oversee the development of an Ambassadors Strategy that aligns with the Community Engagement Strategy (CES).
  • Ensuring all speaker requests are fulfilled, including managing travel arrangements and reimbursements.
  • Managing the day to day responsibilities of the Speakers and Ambassadors team, ensuring task allocation and roles are clear to each team member and all stakeholders.
  • Leading the Speakers and Ambassadors team through the transition to a new CRM system (Salesforce) and ensure appropriate use.
  • Recruiting new Speakers and Ambassadors and training of new and existing Speakers and Ambassadors.
  • Preparing budgets, reports, presentations, briefs and correspondence as requested by the Head of Partnerships & Community Engagement and identifying suitable speakers for key Beyond Blue events or activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Communications, Social Sciences).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the mental health sector and experience working with people who have experienced mental health conditions, including dealing with highly sensitive situations.
