Your new role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Program Coordinator to join our team, to coordinate our 1:1 and group programs. This role is responsible for efficient scheduling, program coordination, communication flow, and the development and execution of diverse programs, including 1:1 supports, respite, day trips, and holiday programs. The ideal candidate is highly organised, creative, personable, and thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment.

As the Coordinator, you will design and implement programs that encourage participation in everyday life, rebuild confidence, and enhance social inclusion, all while providing essential respite for carers. You’ll lead the planning and delivery of group activities with the support of Administration and the Director team, ensuring all services are delivered in a way that upholds human dignity and promotes social justice and equity. You will coordinate 1:1 supports, ensuring participant and support workers are well matched and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate group-based activities that support social engagement, wellbeing, and respite
  • Coordinate 1:1 supports, manage staff rosters and provide guidance to support staff
  • Work collaboratively with carers, participants, community stakeholders and the wider team
  • Act as the first point of contact for the business via phone and general communications
  • Coordinate all logistics for respite programs, day trips, overnight stays, and school holiday activities

Your skills and experience

You must align with our values which are at the core of everything we do at Beyond Barriers Gippsland.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in scheduling, rostering, or program coordination (preferably in a community, NDIS, or disability services setting) or a strong background in event planning or administration
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and rostering platforms (experience in ShiftCare is a bonus!)
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Knowledge of or previous working experience in the disability field
  • Experience in managing staff
