The YES Coordinator will work with the Department of Education, Victoria Police and The Orange Door to accept referrals for young people (10-17yrs old) that are at risk of being involved in the Justice System.
The YES Coordinator will then work with the referred young person and their family to develop a plan on how to support them to engage with sporting or community interests of their choosing.
The project is a time limited (expiry of March 2027) and is funded by the Federal Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The YES Project will sit within the Youth Crime Prevention team in the Western Region of Berry Street and will work alongside the MAST Project which is funded by the Victorian State Government Crime Prevention strategy.
Play a crucial role in establishing relationships with external providers, including community and sporting groups that the general welfare sector does not usually engage with.

We are looking for an individual with strength based understanding, enthusiastic stakeholder relationship skills at the heart of what they do. Flexibility is required to work in the afterhours space at an ad hoc basis.
A Bachelor level qualification in Community Development, Youth Work or associated human service field is required.
