The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Executive Assistant with exceptional organisation and planning skills to assist the Director of Operations.

In this role you will provide executive support to the Director of Operations who has strategic and operational oversight of areas including finance, property, information technology, safeguarding, mission and spirituality, communications, archives and records, risk and compliance, work health and safety and human resources.

A strong builder and maintainer of relationships, you will liaise with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders who are involved in the life and mission of the Sisters both here and abroad.

This position is a full-time role and is located at Glebe. Ample parking is available and the office close to public transport.

The Organisation

The Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict (Sisters) are a group of religious women within the Catholic Church.

Founded in 1857 as the first religious Congregation in Australia, we are committed to assisting the most vulnerable, to being of service to others and to a communal way of life.

Our work in responding to the call to be neighbour in different ways, times and places continues to this day, fulfilling our vision to be missionary disciples here in Australia, Kiribati, the Philippines and Japan.

About You

This role will suit someone who has initiative and great communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to act with discretion, judgement and diplomacy, and have strong organisational and time management skills.

Ideally, you will also possess the following:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as an executive assistant to a senior leader or manager
  • An appreciation of and commitment to supporting the life, mission and charism of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan
  • Advanced skills in Office 365 and associated software
  • Ability to accurately compile and record agendas and minutes
  • Ability to sustain high level performance, problem solve and meet demanding work deadlines with limited supervision
  • Desirable (but not essential) will be your experience working with Boards and/or knowledge of Diligent (BoardEffect), Adobe InDesign and databases
