Bendigo Legacy

ABOUT BENDIGO LEGACY

Bendigo Legacy is a not-for-profit ex-service organisation, part of a network of autonomous Legacy Clubs throughout Australia and one club in London, all under the umbrella of Legacy Australia.

Legacy’s Mission is to serve the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans, striving to ensure that they face no undue financial or social disadvantage due to their loss. Legacy’s Values are Personal Service, Empathy, Understanding, and Commitment.

Legacy provides the essential financial, material, social, educational, developmental and advocacy support that families depend upon each day.

Bendigo Legacy supports over 550 clients in central Victoria and across the Murray River into southern New South Wales, in a large area stretching from Gisborne in the south to Balranald in the north and from Sea Lake in the west to Rushworth in the east. A number of subsidiary entities, called Groups or Branches, support service delivery from Bendigo and are located in Castlemaine, Echuca, Kerang, Kyabram, Macedon Ranges (Kyneton), Seymour and Swan Hill.

Bendigo Legacy is operated by volunteers known as Legatees, and three paid part-time staff. They all work collaboratively, united by our shared values in the delivery of support for veterans’ families.
