Working closely with the CEO, you will lead the development of a dynamic enterprise portfolio designed to deliver long-term financial sustainability and amplify our impact. This is a unique opportunity to turn bold ideas into sustainable, revenue-generating initiatives that reinvest directly into community outcomes.

A key focus of this role is leading the evolution of the Bendigo Community Farmers Market into a thriving, regionally recognised enterprise. You’ll drive the implementation of the market’s growth strategy—enhancing customer experience, supporting local producers, and positioning Bendigo as a leading destination within Australia’s UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone energised by creating opportunities and delivering real-world results. You will bring a blend of creativity, commercial insight, and strategic thinking—translating vision into practical action and measurable outcomes.

About You

You will be passionate about making a difference and able to turn strategy into action. You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise / business development, social enterprise, or commercial operations.
  • Strong project management and implementation skills.
  • Financial acumen, including development of sustainable business models.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
  • Ability to translate strategy into practical actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
  • Availability to work on weekends as required (eg.Bendigo Community Farmers Market, Bendigo Book Fair)
  • You will need a valid driver’s licence, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.

Experience in the local food system, market management and/or working with volunteers will be a bonus!
