About Be Centre

Be Centre is a leading children’s mental health charity that puts the child at the heart of healing. We specialise in Play Therapy for children aged 3–12 who are experiencing trauma or emotional challenges. As one of the only dedicated Play Therapy centres in Australia, we provide early intervention that is child-led, developmentally appropriate, and deeply transformative — helping kids reconnect with their world through the language of play.

Our ability to support children and families in need relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and philanthropic partners. That’s where you come in.

About the Role

This is a career-defining opportunity for a fundraising professional who’s ready to lead with heart, hustle and purpose. As Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering Be Centre’s fundraising strategy, working closely with our CEO and in partnership with the Community Manager (who leads corporate partnerships and community fundraising).

Your focus? Building strong relationships which deliver sustainable, long term, income streams, growing philanthropic giving, and stewarding high-value relationships that will help us support more vulnerable children and families than ever before.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Fundraising & Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain relationships with trusts, foundations, major donors, and grant-making bodies to secure funding aligned to Be Centre’s mission and programs.
  • Proposal Development & Grant Writing
    • Identify funding opportunities and craft compelling, outcomes-focused proposals and reports.
  • Event & Campaign Oversight
    • Lead a high-performing team to deliver flagship fundraising events that engage donors and amplify impact.
  • Collaborative Leadership
    • Work hand-in-hand with the Community Manager to build and grow an integrated fundraising program — from major donors and sponsorships to community campaigns and appeals.
  • Strategy & Growth
    • Contribute to and execute on a long-term vision to significantly grow funding across all streams over the next 3 years.
  • Impact Reporting & Donor Stewardship
    • Ensure supporters feel the impact of their contribution through tailored reporting, communication and acknowledgement.

About You

  • A natural networker with strong existing relationships in the philanthropic or nonprofit sector
  • Proven experience in fundraising for a grassroots or mid-sized charity
  • A confident communicator and relationship builder who can make the ask — and close the deal
  • Creative and strategic — you bring fresh ideas to attract and retain donors
  • Financially literate, with experience managing budgets, targets and CRM platforms (e.g., eTapestry or similar)
  • Highly organised, proactive and goal-oriented — you get things done, and you bring others with you
  • Collaborative, with a team-first attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Hold a valid Working With Children Check and Police Check

Why Join Us?
