Role responsibilities

You will report into the Manager Program and Operations and be confident as a standalone Full Stack Developer, acting as a Product Owner with oversight/responsibility for all technical solutions built on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.

You will work on custom applications, integrating systems and data, and configuring processes and deployments via DevOps pipeline – delivering technical support with the highest levels of customer service to build strong business relationships.

• Actively participate in the design, development and deployment of cloud-native applications on the Microsoft Azure platform using .NET (core) C# with responsive and user-friendly interfaces for ASP.NET applications using modern frameworks and libraries (e.g. React, Blazor, Tailwind).
• Build applications and APIs against Cloud first datastores (e.g. Azure MySql Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Redis) using proven platforms and tooling (e.g. Object Relational Mappings such as Entity Framework Core).
• Includes delivery of end-to-end system integrations using Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, API Management, and other relevant tools.
• Business partner internally, engaging across divisions via workshops and more to gather business/technical requirements to propose and deliver effective solutions. Outside of driving end-to-end project management for integration solutions, supporting operational project lifecycles by providing consultation from a technical lens.
• As the technical SME, horizon scan and maintain a continuous improvement mindset regarding the solution portfolio to ensure operational efficiency aligns with the latest best practise – in turn supporting program and research needs.

Essential Requirements

You will be confident as a technical lead in a standalone role, with exceptional communication skills and a strong sense of customer service. You’ll be able to tailor information and set expectations to business partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders and be able to manage your own workflow in a fast-paced environment.

• Extensive Full stack .NET design and development experience, across web, mobile and desktop. Proficiency in React, Github, MySQL, HTML, CSS and Typescript ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
• Experience leading front-end design and implementation of cloud based ASP.NET MVC web applications built on Microsoft Azure using Tailwind and React frameworks.
• Robust experience with cloud services to enhance web portal performance and security including App Services, Azure Front Door, Azure B2C, Caching strategies, DNS, and Content Delivery Networks.
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns, protocols, and standards, such as REST, SOAP, messaging queues, and API management.
• Experience in establishing continuous integration, automated testing and development strategies using Github actions. Understanding of Data Model design (Conceptual, Logical and Physical).
• Experience designing and managing databases including creating database schemas, SQL queries, query optimisation and ensuring data integrity.
• Experience with delivery methodologies across the software development lifecycle including Waterfall, Agile and Scrum.
• The successful applicant will be required to complete an ‘Australian Federal Police National Police Check application form’ so that an AFP Police Certificate can be issued to MATES. Any offer of employment is conditional on MATES being satisfied as to the results of the police check.

Ideal Requirements

• Previous experience with Microsoft integration stack, including Azure Integration Services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, and other relevant tools.
