A new opportunity working within the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), will see you drive the implementation of strategic business plans that are critical to the GDN Strategy. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and forming part of GDN’s SLT, the role will lead and manage the integrated business planning process across the organisation.

The Role

Collaborating with business leaders, you will be responsible to ensure implementation of the customer insight-based business planning process and strategy. With a background and deep capability in strategic business planning, you will be a savvy, tactical operator but still be comfortable with hands-on work. You will be adept with stakeholder management and understand when to 'push-back' to deliver the desired outcomes for GDN.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage the integrated business planning process, which forms part of the 7-year financial planning model
  • Develop and embed the business planning methodology, tools and reporting to measure and track business operational plans and priorities
  • Coordinate and influence business leaders and their teams to deliver robust business, finance and human capital plans
  • Establish a resource allocation and prioritisation framework that provides insight and guidance into operational impacts, resource allocation and budget
  • Develop standard procedures to manage and monitor performance against the plan
  • Provide insight and advice on the evolution of the business plan
  • Identify and monitor business risks and opportunities against the plan, informed by analysis of data, trends and forecasts, communicating early and providing recommendations for action
  • Prepare regular reports on progress and results for the GDN Executive Team and Board
  • Manage operating mechanisms to ensure oversight and governance of the business planning process

Your Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience in interpreting strategy and delivering business plans in areas such as corporate strategy, growth strategy, strategy-led transformation, and M&A strategy
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiating and influencing diverse stakeholders, applying new thinking, and fostering productive stakeholder relationships
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesise complex data into simple and clear messages (storytelling with data)
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis capability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to liaise confidently and influence at all levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline such as Business / Finance
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Must be comfortable around large dogs
