The Direct Marketing Manager is responsible for project oversight and delivery of the creation, implementation and continued innovation of appeals, regular giving, and campaigns. This role has the opportunity to take the lead on all activity within this program and we are looking for a data driven fundraiser with proven experience in this space who can use their trial and test mentality to inform future strategies and opportunities for improvement.

This role is open to exploring candidates with commercial experience who are wanting to transition into a role that is purpose driven and providing opportunity for meaningful work!

Key areas of the role include:

  • Plan and execute multi-faceted direct marketing, donor development and online marketing strategies that develop broad based support for the organisation
  • Drive the development of the multi-channel fundraising strategy for Direct Marketing, with a focus on mail, EDM and digital
  • End to end management and delivery of the campaigns and appeals
  • Work with agencies to design and implement marketing and advertising campaigns in support of fundraising appeals
  • Manage supplier relationships, including agencies, contractors and other relevant suppliers
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to collect and develop materials for inspirational campaign content
  • Transfer, report and analyse supporter data to measure progress and make informed decisions about segmentation and acquisition strategies
  • Evaluate and prioritise all direct marketing activities based on ROI; strategic direction and/or overall communications activities, reporting back to leadership

About you:

To have success in the role you will be a driven fundraising professional who seeks out opportunities for innovation and improvement, using data to inform decisions. You will also have;

  • Demonstrated experience in developing an Individual Giving program
  • Experience in driving multi-channel acquisition strategies
  • Direct marketing experience and the ability to manage appeals end to end, with knowledge of the time required to launch appeals and meet deadlines
  • Sound understanding of fundraising CRMs, ideally with Raisers Edge
  • Experience in writing copy for appeals, using sound fundraising principles
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to seek out information to support appeals
  • Agency management experience with a background in driving decisions on appeals
  • Have an ongoing ambition and commitment to trial and test innovative fundraising techniques
  • Exceptional analytical skills with proven ability to interpret and apply learnings, whilst making data-driven decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
