The Junction Neighbourhood Centre (JNC) provides a diverse range of community services and programs for the communities in Eastern and Inner Sydney, with a focus on people who are socially isolated, disadvantaged and vulnerable.
As a not-for-profit organisation operating for 50 years, the focus of our work is strengthening communities and creating connections. They have community centres in Maroubra, Glebe and Bondi Junction which provide community information and places for the community to meet and participate in a wide range of groups, classes and programs.
They have capacity building projects targeting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people who are socially isolated. They also offer specialised services for older people and their carers, for women and families that have experienced domestic and family violence (DFV) and for families with children under 13.
Working in a collaborative team of caseworkers, this role enables women who are experiencing Domestic & Family Violence to stay safely in their own home or home of their choice. This is done through case management, safety strategies and support for women and their families. The role involves:
