Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families impacted by problem gambling? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Family Caseworker to join our dynamic family support team and deliver high-quality support services to adolescents (12–17 years) and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management and support to adolescents (12–17 years) and their families impacted by problem gambling through regular home visits and access to services and programs, including intake and assessment and case planning, monitoring and review
  • Assess the family’s strengths and needs using the early intervention common assessment tool, including the use of other evidence-based tools as appropriate.
  • Maintain a focus on the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and their families, underpinned by a solid understanding of child development, child protection, and individual and systemic issues
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops, community events, and networking opportunities for adolescents (12–17 years) and their families impacted by problem gaming and gambling
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and documentation in compliance with funding and legislative requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and external service providers

Essential Criteria:

  • University qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline (other degrees may be considered with significant relevant experience)
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with adolescents (12–17 years) and their families
  • Strong planning and coordination skills for delivering workshops and events
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of child protection and relevant legislation
  • High-level communication, negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to speak a community language
  • Training in evidence-based parenting programs

Requirements (must have or willing to obtain):

  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
