Coordinator - Belconnen Child and Family Hub

Capital Region Community Services

The Belconnen Child and Family Hub is an exciting new pilot initiative bringing together early childhood education and care with integrated, place-based family support services. This is a forward-thinking model designed to reimagine how communities connect with the supports they need, earlier, easier, and in one welcoming place.

At the centre of the Hub is the Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre, a vibrant, accessible and trusted space where children and families can learn, grow and connect. As the Hub evolves, it will become a leading example of coordinated, community-led support across Belconnen.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and capable Hub Coordinator to help bring this innovative model to life.

This is a unique dual-function leadership role that combines:

  • Assistant Director responsibilities at Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre, and
  • Hub coordination across services, partnerships and community supports.

You will play a key role in shaping how this pilot develops—supporting high-quality early childhood education while building the relationships, systems and pathways that connect families with the right support at the right time.

Working across early childhood and family services, you will help strengthen collaboration between internal programs, external services and community organisations. Your work will ensure families experience the Hub as a single, seamless point of connection for parenting support, early intervention, developmental services and wellbeing supports.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to 30 June 2027, offering the opportunity to contribute to an initiative that is actively shaping the future of integrated community services.

About You

You are energised by the opportunity to be part of something new and meaningful. You thrive in environments where innovation, collaboration and community impact come together.

You bring:

  • A genuine passion for children, families and community wellbeing
  • Experience building trusted relationships with families, services and community partners
  • The ability to lead confidently while staying grounded in a collaborative, family-centred approach
  • A strong commitment to inclusion, cultural respect and diverse lived experiences
  • A natural ability to connect people with the right supports and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional approach grounded in care, respect, honesty, optimism and resilience
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to a welcoming, high-quality environment for children and families

What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in early childhood, family support, or integrated service delivery
  • Essential: Diploma or Early Childhood Teacher qualification in Education and Care
  • Experience in leadership or coordination roles, with the ability to support operations and contribute to quality service delivery
  • Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships across families, community organisations, service providers and internal teams
  • Strong skills in engaging children and families using strengths-based, culturally responsive practice
  • Knowledge of child development, early intervention, inclusion, and wellbeing frameworks
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and the ability to mentor and guide others in its application
  • Familiarity with early childhood regulatory and quality frameworks, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Highly developed communication, coordination and organisational skills, including managing competing priorities and supporting service planning
  • A strong commitment to collaboration, inclusion and positive organisational culture

Desirable Qualifications

  • Undergraduate qualification in Psychology or Social Work (with eligibility for professional registration or membership with AHPRA, APS or AASW where applicable)
