Our organisation offers a diverse range of service offerings designed to support parents, caregivers, and education services in nurturing, supporting, and raising healthy, vibrant, and happy children and young people.
The services provided include parent/carer education, support groups, early education support, targeted interventions for families and children, evidence-based therapeutic programs, and supported/targeted playgroups. Responsibilities include organising and implementing group programs and education sessions, assisting participants in setting and achieving personal goals, maintaining professional relationships with participants and service providers, providing information and advocacy for accessing services, and keeping accurate records. The position also involves collaborating with carers, families, and relevant agencies.
Required qualifications include tertiary education in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, with additional registration or eligibility for registration if applicable. You will also have demonstrated experience working with vulnerable parents and families, knowledge of mental health and socioemotional development, proficiency in group program facilitation, and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organisational proficiency, and familiarity with Microsoft Office are necessary. First Aid Certificate, certifications in psychoeducation and therapeutic programs, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, experience delivering evidence-based group psychoeducation programs, familiarity with the ACT Community Services and Child Mental Health sectors, membership with professional bodies, and/or knowledge of Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Practice, Neurobehavioral development, and Play Therapy would be highly advantageous.
A valid driver's license and access to a roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle are essential for this role to fulfill work-related requirements. You must also have a current Working with Children Clearance if working in NSW, in addition to a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
