We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Coordinator Social Policy & Research, we are seeking an Health and Wellbeing Policy Officer who can bring their skills and experience to help shape Council's interventions to support a healthy, connected and diverse community. This role leads whole of organisation policy and programs that focus on identified community health and wellbeing priorities in partnership with government, service providers and community groups. We are looking for someone with strong policy skills and ability to drive evidence-based primary prevention initiatives.

To be considered you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, social science or related discipline
  • Several years skills and experience, preferably in a government or community health setting, in developing, implementing and evaluating public health and wellbeing and/or gender equality policies, action plans and projects
  • Local government experience is desirable
