About the Role
The Community Wellbeing Coordinator will provide support and leadership to the Community Wellbeing Team and in partnership with the community, plan and implement innovative approaches to community development and health promotion to build community capacity and enhance health and wellbeing, including:
- Coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan
- Supporting and providing direction to the local Community Centre’s and Neighbourhood Houses
- Overseeing Council’s Community Grants Program and Volunteer program
- Leading key Council Plans such as Reconciliation Action Plan, and Disability Action Plan
You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership to the Community Wellbeing Team to meet the needs and aspirations of the Bayside community
- Implementing and actively leading and participating in community development planning and processes
- Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Community Development/Human Service related discipline eg Health Promotion, Social Policy, Health Science
- Experience in people management and leadership
- Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating policies and strategic action plans in response to identified community issues
- Experience in stakeholder management, community engagement and health promotion/planning
- Well developed understanding of community development theories, methodologies and their application
- Well developed community engagement and facilitation skills
Mandatory pre-employment requirements
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be fully vaccinated with at least two approved COVID-19 vaccines or have proof of medical exemption, in accordance with Council's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
