Bass Coast Health (BCH) is the sub-regional health service for the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shires, with sites at Wonthaggi, Cowes, San Remo.

In order to support our rapidly growing population, we're growing our services and the complexity of our organisation. This includes adding a new $115 million hospital expansion and renovated facilities to ensure we meet the increasing health care needs of our region.

Position Summary

The Integrated Family Services (IFS) Team supports families experiencing vulnerabilities. The Primary client group for the Bass Coast Health Integrated Family Services is children and young people aged 0-17 years (including unborn children) and their families who are experiencing parenting challenges. IFS practitioners provide parenting support, advocacy and referrals to specialist services while working in collaboration with other professionals and services.

Requirements of the position are

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent
  • Identified experience in an Integrated Family Services Program or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Best Interest Framework including knowledge of current attachment, trauma & child development theories
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct ongoing child well-being Best Interest assessments that inform Family Action Plans developed with families.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify & understand complex issues that impact on families experiencing vulnerability.
  • Ability to assist parents with the positive development of their parenting skills utilizing strength-based family interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment & with external agencies.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability to adhere to case file management and data entry requirements.
  • A valid Police Check
  • Current Working with Children check.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
  • COVID-19 Vaccination in accordance with the Chief Health officer COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Directions
  • Flu Vaccination
